It is important to Carroll to connect with fans. "Music touches people, and to be totally human you've got to have something like music," he said. "You might have a functional society if you only had the sciences and things like that, but you wouldn't have a progressive one if you didn't have art - music, painting, dancing, all that kind of stuff."

What's ahead for Adam is touring at his usual non-stop rate and reaching a national audience and progressing as a songwriter and performer. "My priorities are to try to write as much as I possibly can, and let the rest kind of take care of itself," he said. "I want to write good songs and do good work. That's what really lasts."

Adam's writing proves that he is an old soul and he's learned a lil' over the past few years of touring, recording and performing, "I try to never assume too much," he said. "Every gig is a new gig; it's important to play like it's your last gig everywhere you go, because you never know. Don' t give up when you get your butt kicked. Be open to new things, but make sure you're writing about what you know. Make sure the writing is fun, and the music is fun."
